any and all gurus re the same.Guru ram das is infact sggs.We dont have to pray to a certain guru.Sggs is our eternal guru with gods divide light.What guru says with god and guru(and saints) are same is that when someone gets holy enough gods dwells and shines from their body>they become free from maya and offer mortals guidence.When they talk god talks.God infuses his power on to them.In sggs it says

As metal merges with metal, those who chant the Praises of the Lord are absorbed into the Praiseworthy Lord.

Dhaat milai fun Dhaat ka-o siftee sifat samaa-ay.

and

By personally experiencing the Personality of the Guru, one`s own personality is uplifted, and one`s light merges into the Light.

what these quotes saay is that the lord merges hmself with saints and they become part of god even when alive (jeeven mukhat).The goal of sikhs is to be so god like that we merge with god and arent reborn>THis can happen in life through loving and paising and serving the lord all other methods (penence,pilgrimages ,yogas)are useless.


read the vaars bhai gurdas it ill say how one guru became another.Guru ramdas(along with other gurus)is in fact still alive and helping us in sggs bani hai guru guru hai bani.One does not have to pray to him.Pray to the one lord that is in all .ask guru for help .lord god ram har har is the source of all miracles .
Favoring 1 guru is wrong when they are the same. Sikhism prays to one lord onl y.He is unseen but in eveything one can see his light.We pray with a saint ( gurujis) help and he teaCHES US TO FIND THE LORD AND PRAYS FOR US.
