Summary of Question: | What Is The True Guru |

I'm constantly confused about what the True Guru is. In the Guru Granth Sahib it says that the True Guru will come to you and it explains that the True Guru is key to connecting to God. Could you please explain what the True Guru is? Based on what i feel and what i've read i believe it's an inner self, ie each person has their own True Guru that needs to be awakened which in turn leads to self-realization.
Is this correct?
Thanks.

The True Guru is the Shabd of Siri Guru Granth Sahib. Our Guru is the living word of God as contained in SGGS. Yes, you contain your God soul connection. You need the guidence of the Guru to quiet the mind to experience the TRUTH within. SGGS speaks to the mind and takes you from darkness of your mental ignorance to the light of your elevated soul. Also, it is not an intellectual concept but an experience that you have through immersion in SHABD and meditation on the NAAM.
