Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru ji ki Fateh

I received a disturbing video by email recently which goes completely against my beliefs as a Sikhi. It is a video of an animal sacrifice at Hazoor Sahib and then the animal is taken into the gurdwara and its blood applied to weapons, rumala and even the nishan sahib. My understanding is that meat is forbidden in sikhi and Guruji only permitted it at a time of war when there was no other source of food.

Please could you tell me your views on these videos and maybe shed some light on this and why it is allowed. Also if you are able I would be grateful if you could raise this as an issue with an authoritative figure or organisation in India and not shy away from it. I think you guys are doing a great job and god willing you get back to me soon!

Wahe Guru Ji Ka Khalsa. Wahe Guru Ji Ki Fateh. I had heard of this practice at Hazur Sahib but have never actually seen it as you have kindly shown us. It is a very old practice of the Nihangs to feed the Shastr of Guru Gobind SIngh with warm blood.This is not part of our Rehit. As some Gurdwara's in far flung places have their own unique and contrary practices, whether from Hindu origin or Islam.

This is not our way to make animal sacrifices. This practice will die out in time. For now will you make an inquiry into this practice and do your research? I am sure you will get more satisfaction by taking this project on. We are an educational foundation with 3 people running all. Lets say that you take on this leadership role and let us know the results of your inquiry. Thank you.
