Summary of Question: | Who Is God? |
Category: | General Sikhism |
Date Posted: | Monday, 6/28/2010 4:59 PM MDT |
I have been brought up since birth as a Sikh and have been labeled as a Sikh Child. I am now 19 years old and was wondering, Who is god? Is he a supernatural being who created man-kind? What about Evolution? Didn't we evolve from monkeys?
Also, How do i really know that Sikhism is the right religion? Why don't sikhs follow the teachings of say, Buddha? Who was a very kind man.
Thank you very much for your time,
Reena

Sat Nam,
These are all very good and deep questions. No one should ever believe anything unless they have experienced themselves. You have to have a first hand knowledge instead of blindly following other peoples advise.
God is not a person, never was never will be. Everything is God, everything you see, everything you touch, everything that happens to you in this life. Here is a link to a website where you can do some research to see if you could get some of your questions asked.
http://www.yogibhajan.org/
There is a lot of different information there and it may take a while to figure it out but you should do as much research as possible to form your own personal opinion.
