It is generally seen at Gurdwaras and homes that there are pictures of 10 SIKH GURUS.These pictures are painted by various artists, who don't met/see the GURUS and its just their imagination. Most of us bow our heads/do other religious rites in front of these pictures. These pictures are installed at various Gurdwaras. Can I ask the following questions to all of you :-

1)that the worship of these pictures is the replica of the Hindusim and their rites, whereas we say that SIKH religion is a separate religion from Hinduism and SIKHISM has its own identity ?
2)that various artists paint the pictures of the same GURU in different ways and it may create confusion in our minds especially in minds of kids. What is the solution for this ? How can we guide the kids in a best way ?
3)that SHRI GURU GRANTH SAHIB is our present GURU and we have to follow the directions from the same.So there may not be a need of imaginative pictures of 10 SIKH GURUS.

The pictures are not for worship and should not be worshiped. They are to give the mind a more inspirational environment.
Think of it from the opposite side. If you put pictures of people engaged in sex all around you, that's what you would think of. If you put pictures of Movie Stars around you, that's what you think of. If you put pictures of uplifting, inspirational people around you, that's what you will think about.
It doesn't matter if the pictures are exact or not, they represent the Gurus in the mind.
