.. .. why is it that females sit on one side of the darbar sahib and the males on the other???

I know of at least two reasons.
One: So the energy will not be confused with sexual energy of being in tight quarters.
Two: The Male and Female energy are like the two ends of a battery, positive and negative. When all the men and women sit together it creates a polarity energy in the Gurdwara. It helps everyone to have a deeper meditative experience, sort of like a booster rocket.
