Wahe Guru Ji Ka Khalsa,
Wahe Guru Ji Ki Fateh.

You need to develop another strategy to help you deal with stress. Plus, you need to support your body with good, healthy foods while you stop smoking. Some suggestions:

For stress: Take up a sport that lets you get out, move around, and sweat. Also-you may try just sitting quietly and following your breath for a few minutes a day. If you have a lot of emotional tension in your life, write in a diary a couple times a week. Do you have people you can talk to about what's honestly going on for you? 17 is a tough age - try to find someone older than you that you trust who can help you figure out some things - a mentor of some kind.

For smoking: Carry raisins with you. Whenever you have a craving to smoke, eat raisins until the craving passes. Usually, cravings last an average of 7 minutes - so it's you against the clock. Whenever a craving hits, just know you need to sit it out and it will pass. Raisins are a healthy healthy way to deal with the cravings.

When do you smoke during the day? Are their certain times? Before school? Right after school gets out? Find something else to do at those times - create another habit to replace smoking. Run around the block or have a bottle of juice. Do something for yourself so you don't "miss" the cigarette.

Adding vegetable juices to your diet will also help your body detox from all the poisons and chemcials built up in the body tissue. So eating healthy, especially with lots of juices, will help your body get past needing its nicotine fix.

Good luck, I hope this helps.
