Summary of Question:	WHY CAN'T SIKHS CUT THEIR HAIR?

IS IT WRONG TO THE RELIGION(SIKHISM)IF SOMEONE DOES? HOW DID IT ALL START WITH NOT CUTTING OUR HAIR? MANY SIKHS CUT THIER HAIR, DOES THAT MEAN THEY ARE NOT LOYAL TO THE RELIGION?

Sikhs don't cut their hair for several reasons. The best reason is because they remember that Guru Gobind Singh told the Sikhs never to cut it. Another reason is that hair acts as an antenna to pull in energy (probably the story of Samson and Delilah in the Bible could be true! She cut his hari, he lost his strength!). As Sikhs, and as Khalsa, we want to live as God made us. Guru Gobind Singh said so long as his Sikhs remained distintive, he would be with them! God gave us hair, and no matter how often we cut it, it keeps wanting to grow back again! it protects the top of the skull -- where there is an energy center that is very sensitive (the soft spot that a newborn baby has - the fonanel) and hair , when combed up to the top of the head during the day -- helps to bring the energy into the higher centers of consciousness, and into the brain. To humiliate the conquered people of China, Ghengis Khan made them cut their hair and wear bangs over the forehead! Even in the Ardas, the traditional Sikh
prayer (I don't know if the questioner here is a sikh or non-Sikh) it asks for the GIFT of hair (kesh)! So, I think we want to honor and appreciate God's gift to us. Blessings, SP ( Oh, yes, hair also helps convert sunshine into Vit. D for the body.)
