Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ke Fateh

Can i please ask you a question?
Two days ago i fought with my classmate as he hit my jura.
After quite some time i stopped the fight by not hitting him back.
So i thought i was coward and today someone told m,e i was a coward.
And it is also very difficult for me to get through this incident.
It keeps coming in to my mind and i always start thinking i am a coward.
Can you help me solve this problem and how can i conquer my fear so that i never get scared of anyone again?

Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ke Fateh.

Sat Nam,
Anyone can use their fist to lash out at someone, but their are few people who are capable of not allowing pride and ego to control their actions. These people understand the value of dealing with things in a graceful and effective manner.
If you had hit this boy back, what would that have proved? You would have shown that you are just as shallow as he was. I know it may be a difficult issue, since your peers are also saying what you did was a cowardly thing to do, but i sincerly hope that you can look back on that situation and think about it and realize that not responding to shallowness with shallowness is not only a courages thing to do, it is often a very difficult, painful situation. As you have found out. Only a truely strong person, like you, could not react in a situation where everyone around you is telling you to react.
