why do we have prashad system at gurudwara?

is it a adoptation of hindu culture whish we have been practicing since many years?

Prashad is given to the Sangat after the Hukam is read. It is symbolic of the abundance and sustenance that we receive from the Guru, and that everything coming to us in life is the Guru's gift (prashad) and is therefore sweet.

It is NOT a Hindu practice that Sikhs have adopted. This tradition of distribution of Prasaad was first initiated by Guru Nanak, to eliminate the class distinctions among members of his congregation by having everyone served from the same bowl.
