You are very blessed to ask this question.
Shabd Harzarey starts with "Mera man loche gur darshan taa-ee...." the prayer of Arjan's lomging for his father/Guru Ram Das when he was sent away to attend a wedding on the Guru's behalf.
"Shabd Hazarey" means 1,000 shabds. Doing it has the power of doing a thousand shabds. It keeps you connected with your loved ones. It should be done daily as a part of your Jap Ji Sahib in the morning "Path".
You can read about the story of this shabd in "The Sikh Religion" by Max Macoualiff....or in the life of Guru Arjan Dev in Hemkunt Sahib Press, childrens series etc.
God bless you.
