Summary of Question:What is WAHEGURU

Hello all,

I have a question...actually I have many questions...but I will start with this one: What does WAHEGURU mean and how was it created.

I have heard that it is actually a "compilation" of various names. I know that it stands for "god is one" and that seems to go along with the theory that WAHEGURU is the names of gods avatars from different eras or ages put together.

I would greatly appreciate an answer/rebutal against this question/theory. Thanks

I can't tell you the origin. However we do know it was used by Patanjali,
a famous Yogi who lived several thousand years ago. He gave the mantra
"Wha Yantee, Kar Yantee, Jug Doot Patee, Adhik It Whahaa, Brahma Day, Tresha
Guru, It Wahe Guru". So it has been in use for thousands of years.
"Wha" is like saying WOW as big as the universe. Guru is that which takes you from darkness to light. It is God as the unfathomable, infinite Guru.
