First want to to thank you and greatly appriciate your time and efforts.

I have been through Sikh youth q/a archive and found most of the questions
are wonderfully answerd. May God and Guru bless all you there. My question is
How to come over the self destructive feelings of jealousy.I borned in a
Sikh family. Although I cut my hairs and shave my beard but I Practiced
Guru teaching practically all my life from the bottom of my heart even since II was a child.I regularly
pray and chant wahee guru all the time. Every morning I wake up with the
commitment to treat everybody with love, respect and compassion even includes
people those irritate me.Sometimes I have fellings of sort of I am less than
others in every aspect of life although I have accomplished most I desired.I
kind of find myself fighting with my own mind and feel powerless.I hardely
keep myself when my mind forces me to do what I see others are doing such
as drinking, going to dance have a girlfriend. Please help.

First of all....being good in your heart....this is a cop out. Your mind is filled with thoughts and you lack the meditative process to clear out this garbage from your mind. This is a daily practice that Sikhs do in Amrit Vela.

Are you deeply meditating on Wahe Guru? When you cut your hair you are weakening yourself.

Meditation for the next 40 days: Sudarshan Chakra Kriya..from Siri Guru Granth Sahib.

Sit in quiet peaceful space where you wil not be disturbed. Sit in easy crosslegged position. Straight spine. Close your eyes and look at the tip of the nose.

Place your right thumb over your right nostril and inhale deeply and completely through your left nostril. Hold your breath and pump the naval in and out 16 times as you meditate on Wahe Guru(mentally) for each pump of the diaphram. You can use your fingers to keep track of the 16 times you pump and mentally do Wahe Guru. Then exhale through the right nostril...by closing off the left nostril with your fingers as you exhale. Repeat the left nostril breath and pumping of naval etc. for 31 minutes. When you are finished, lie down and deeply relax and feel the love of God and Guru insied of you.

Do this for 31 minutes a day for the next 40 days....See how your jealosy and insecurity run away and how your intuition and clarity of mind comes to work for you.
