Was Guru Nanak Dev JI the first to say that the Earth Spins around the Sun?

As for your question about Guru Nanak saying the earth revolved around the sun, I do not know what reference that is from. From a Western historical perspective, the Italian man known as Galileo Galilei is known for first asserting this same fact, and he lived AFTER Guru Nanak (1564-1642). You could definitively know the answer by searching astronomy Web sites and seeing what is said. It is also quite likely that people in China or other points in the Far East said the earth revolves around the sun BEFORE Galileo, but the West generally believes that Galileo was the first to say it and attempt to prove it.
