There are 4 Yugs, or Ages, which have been descibed by the scriptures.
1.Sat Yug-Age of Truth-Golden Age
2.Treta Yug-truth was 3/4 full-Silver age
3.Doar Yug-truth was 1/2-copper age
4.Kalyug-1/4 truth-Steel age (dark Age)

"The duration of the Kalyug is 432,000 human years. So we are still in the middle of this age, the age of steel, Age of Machine. This is represented by a circle which is the wheel of Creation. It works with the power represented by another wheel which runs it.
Constant vibrations from that wheel of Cosmic energy give the power of life movement to this wheel of creation.

Now my dear, draw one circle like a wheel and put another circle like a wheel over. It will make the figure 8 (turned sideways)according to the science of Numerology, represents Infinity.

Wahe Guru, has 8 vibrations and describes the Glory of God. In the time 2 1/2 hours before the sun rises when the channels are most clear, if this mantra is sung in sweet harmony, you will be one with the Lord.

In the town of Goindwal, Punjab India, even today this Divine Mantra is still inscribed on the walls of the Bowli Sahib(the sacred well). The house of Guru Amar Das."

excerpts from lecture by Yogi Bhajan, Ph.D 1971

We have just entered the Aquarian Age which should last about 2,000 years. This is a transition time that if successful will be characterised by; globalization, universality, and the dignity of the human being.
