Waheguruji Ka Khalsa,

Waheguruji Ki Fateh.

I was jus reading the history of sikhism over the various websites. i came across this part where Guru Nanak Devji chose Bhai Lehna as the next Guru over his sons, Sri Chand and Lakshmi chand. The sons were disrespectful and did not obey the command of Guru Nanak Devji. but at some other website, i also read that Baba Sri Chand was very spiritual and has his own sect of 'Udasis' and was also envisioned by Baba Virsa Singhji of Gobind Sadan.
I just want to clarify the role and standing of Baba Sri Chand so that i don't form any wrong opinion about him. also if u could share some knowledge about the udasis, that would help me too.
I am trying to learn more about sikhi. plz reply me soon.

Waheguruji Ka Khalsa,
Waheguruji Ki Fateh.

Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Waheguru JI Ki Fateh.
It is true that Baba Siri Chand was a very great yogi and the head of the Udaasi yogic sect. Yes, he had a falling out with his papa, Baba Nanak, but all was forgiven, ultimately. Also, Baba Siri Chand lived a long time, long enough to know 2nd, 3rd, and 4th Guru. Guru Ram Das formally forgave Baba Siri Chand for what happened before and humbly washed Baba Siri Chand's feet with his long beard. After that, 4th, 5th, 6th, and 7th gurus sent one of their sons to study and learn with Baba Siri Chand's people. 9th Guru was one of these, BTW.
I do not know about Baba Virsa Singhji of Gobind Sadan, so I cannot comment. So, while the Udaasis are not SIkh, they are historically friends of Sikhs, so to speak.
Guru ang sang,
-DKK
