Waheguru ji ka Khalsa

Waheguru ji ki Fateh

I wanted to know the proper way to ask for something from God. I know you should ask with a saccha dil/mann. To do paath and ardaas properly. Is there something I am missing? Is it okay to ask for it many times?

Is it right when you need God to decide something for you, to do ardaas and pick between to chitees (which have two different decisions on each)?

I have been thinking a lot about asking God for things though. It seems to confuse me, the more I think about it. Everyone is growing everyday, their likes and dislikes grow as well. Sometimes we think we want/need things, only to find out later in time that we did not. I know that God does everything in our lives for the best and b/c he loves us. Sometimes these things are done through ourselves or others, but they are God's motives. Sometimes we do not agree with what has happened, not knowing there is more to come. Yet this needing/wanting feeling is strong, knowing that Satgur is taking care of it. Asking Satgur if they can do whatever to make it better but let you have what you desire. This strange thing called desire is so hard to rid of, whether it be for emotional or an object. How do you pull yourself from this desire, that you have had and have had to live without. How do you surrender to God's ultimate decision, power and love? When your desires are so strong?

Please do not take any offence to what I've said. I am just speaking my heart as pure as I can. I appreciate your time for reading and thinking about what I have asked and said.

Reb Rakha, It is hard for that Universal Force to answer your prayers if you are so confused. Maybe your first prayer needs to be to ask for clarity. Do meditation and things that will clear your mind. Drinking alcohol clouds our mind...meditation clears it. Eating meat clogs up your system and makes it hard to be clear. I'm not saying that you drink and eat meat, but for any one else reading this that does it is no mistake that the Guru told us to live a pure life. It makes us clear. Make your prayers simple. Making the prayer is the first part. Listening is the next. Listen, listen, listen. The next part is to obey what we hear, which is the hardest part of all. Blessings, JJK
