Sat sri akal,

I belong to a Sikh family. My daughter fell in love with a non sikh boy.
We opposed this for a period not less than eight years and ultimately had to surrender. She is not having any problem in adustment.
But the problem is that we had been totally byocotted from our relatives especially my in-law side. I am in great depression.Kindly advise how to get
out from this dilema. I have great respect for my relatives but when I am ignored it is too much painful.
With kind regards,

Yours sincerely,

Satnam ji,

I feel your pain and disappointment. If your inlaws are American, then perhaps they do not have the same standards of hospitality as you do. Americans tend to keep to themselves thinking not to bother any one.

If this is important to you, them please reach out to your inlaws and invite them for a get-to-gether( tea or dinner) as your home. Go out to the movies.

But really, the love of your daughter is what you are wanting. So, cultivate her in your prayers if nothing else works. Give your expectations to God and Guru and recite the Shabd "Mera Man Loche gur darshan taa-ee......" daily. Put your longing into this prayer and let Guru bring her back in love and acceptance.

Blessings,
SKKK
