MY QUESTION IS VERY SIMPLE AND STRAIGHT FORWARD. PLEASE TELL ME THE WAY, THE PATH WHERE I CAN MEET GOD? HOW DO I PRAY TO HIM? I MEAN EVERY ONE I KNOW PRAY TO HIM, BUT IS IT THE RIGHT WAY.. IF IT IS, THEN WHY HAVE THEY NOT MEET HIM? MAY BE YOU CAN HELP ME...

(REPLY) Sat Nam. Sikh Dharma is the Path given to us by men who met God. They discovered, and taught that God is inside you. With every breath, God is infusing you with His very essence. Most of us, however, are unaware, and blind to God's presence in us because of the layers of ego and mental and emotional thoughts and feelings we have accumulated in our subconscious over many lifetimes. That is why it takes much effort to dissolve those layers --- like removing a blanket from a light so you can see it shining. Best way I know is by reciting God's Name. i.e. chanting Wahe Guru or Sat Nam every morning in the Ambrosial hours (sometime between 4 ane 7 am) to "re-record" on the cassette tape in your subconscious and bring in the vibration of God's Name to purify and clarify your being. A simple way to meditate on God, and "meet" Him, is to sit with eyes closed, and watch your breath flow in and out of your nose, and every time you receive an inhalation, think SAT and everytime you exhale, think NAM. Do this at least five minutes to begin with, and you can gradually increase the time. Then keep God's name in your heart and mind as much as possible during the day. We are so fortunate that we have the wonderful path to God layed out for us by our Gurus! Guru Nanak gave us Japji Sahib (be sure to recite this first thing in the morning, before you start your meditation)which has the power to connect you with your soul. Each and every Bani has a special gift, a power to enlighten your mind and strengthen your soul to manifest and make you more aware of your divine essence, your true identity. Do not underestimate the power of these divine words that our Gurus spoke. We were given Bana, Bani, Seva, and Simran to help us achieve what you say is your goal. If it were easy, everyone would have done it by now! Each of us is born with a different amount of karma to dissolve and "pay off." Also, simple and straightforward, I would say, there's no wrong way to pray, the thing is, to make it effective, one has to clear the mind a bit first. Praying is simply talking to God. Let's say God's "phone number" is EK ONG KAR SAT NAM SIRI WAHE GURU. So, to get God's attention, you chant that. Or, you can connect with WAHE GURU. Or SAT NAM. (Sat Nam ="Truth is God's Name," so when you chant it, you're calling on God.) I hope this all is somewhat helpful. Your question is simple, and yet there are many ways to answer it.
