I found some information on a discussion post that was posted on November 24th, 2002. It's a bit old but it has some information about Gatka in Surrey. Perhaps if these classes are no longer offered, you could contact the persons in charge. There's another post there where the Sikh Students Association of UBC hosted a one day introductory class on July of this year.

Currently, we are trying to find an indoor place (i.e. gym, open warehouse) to do this, hopefully low-cost. If you know a place we can use, please let us know. It would be much appreciated.

I would like to let everyone know that there is a Gathka program and Khalsa School Gym every Sunday from 1:30pm-about 3pm. The cost is free. It is run by Gian Singh, Parm Singh and Grace Kaur. Everyone is welcome to come out and participate.
