Summary of Question:Re: Reasons For Tying A Turban
Category:General Sikhism

This is one the reasons given by the moderators here for tying a turban. "Hair draws energy from the sun and acts as antenna to the environment, giving us greater sensitivity and intuitiveness.".

Do you really expect people to believe this. Yes it absorbs solar vitamin K but that is all. The rest is nonsense. If teh rest were true i would never need cable TV at home. HBO would be free! Please give more sensicle reasons sir.

Sat Sri Akal,

It is interesting you bring this up. Just a few minutes ago I was looking at my portable FM radio and to get good reception I had to pull out the antenna. According to the scientists, this "antenna" picks up these so called "waves" in the air. Just because I can't see these "waves" in the air does not mean they don't exist. In fact, I know they exist because my FM radio works. I believe all this because an engineer told me this is how it works.

It is interesting to note that we are all willing to believe any engineer or scientist that claim anything because they are scientists. Yet, when the Gurus tell us something, we at once try to criticize it and will not even believe it. Instead of developing our own views of what is right and wrong or true and untrue, we should understand the Guru Ji's viewpoint and understand what they are teaching us.

Further, when a human or another animal is scared, the hair all over their bodies stand up. Why does this happen? It happens to give the human or the animal greater sensitivity and intuitiveness in the situation they are in.

By the way, I'm an electrical engineer and understand exactly how an antenna works. The notion that the hair on a human acts as some sort of "antenna" makes a lot of sense to me.

Gur Fateh,
HSD
