I heard the story about Guru Gobind Singh Ji writing the Granth Sahib all over again because it was destroyed. Did he memorize who wrote what and everything because it always tells you before each part. Did all of the gurus have banis to add? because i think it was the 6th, 7th and 8th gurus that aren't mentioned in the granth. Guru Gobind Singh also didn't add to the Granth for some reason. I heard he wrote his own seperate one in a more complex sans-script. I don't understand why this is.

Guru Gobind Singh is the light of the Guru. For him to transfer the information from the Adi Granth(as it was not yet Siri Guru Granth Sahib)was through his divine meditative channel. His connection with the INFINITE would not be called memrorization.

You are correct to say that the 6th, 7th and 8th Guru's did not have writings. Guru Gobind Singh is the one who added the writings of his father, the 9th Master, Guru Teg Bahadur to the Adi Granth at the time he made it our Guru, the Siri Guru Granth Sahib. He did not include his own writings, however. Guru Gobind Singh's writings are compiled into the Dasm Granth and are also 3 of the daily Bani's that we recite: Jaap Sahib, Shabd Hazare, Tav Prasaad Svaye.
