Sat Siri Akal.

Every child has a destiny written on his or her forehead and marriage before the Guru is when two souls commit to sharing their destinies with each other - to support each other on their spiritual journeys. Marriage is not something to do because it looks good to the family or because it is expected. In this attitude many miseries are created. But, unforunately, culture sometimes clouds the true meaning of the Lavan and the Sikh wedding.

However, being "in love" does not always signify the right partner, either. The Guru teaches that wordly love is a distraction. The Sikh marriage, in its ideal form, is when two soul marry the Guru together and commit to living a spiritual discipline together - to grow together, raise children in the vibration of spiritual awareness and serve the community together.

The key for a good marriage is not whether or not the parents arrange it or whether or not you choose it yourself - but the consciousness from which you attract your partner.

Hope this is helpful.

All love,

GPK
