(REPLY) Sat Nam. Of course stress related to your studies can be causal to triggering your anger. Anger is a basic human emotion -- but when it not controlled, it can ruin your life. The fact that you recognize it as a problem is a good sign. If you find yourself starting to get angry, and short-tempered, there are a few things you can do to calm you down. For one thing, when you catch yourself, immediately take a few long deep breaths (through your nose). I mean really long and slow, and think SAT as you inhale, and Nam as you exhale. The mind follows the breath, and by slowing the breath, you'll start to control your mind. Drink a glass of water. (Are you drinking enough water during the day? It's really important to quence the "fire" of that anger.) Be sure to read your banis. Especially Japji first thing in the morning, and Kirtan Sohila at bedtime. These words from the Guru are like spiritual vitamins, to strenghten and uplift your mind. Also, as often as possible say to yourself, ANG SANG WAHE GURU -- to remind your subconscious that God is with you totally! (Each inhalation is proof that God does live in you!) When we cannot control anger it usually indicates that the 72,000 nerves of the body are weak, sort of like wires that are frayed, and so you're liable to blow a fuse. (One of the best ways to strengthen the nervous system is by a breathing technique call Breath of Fire. If you are interested, you can read the instructions in the book called KUNDALINI YOGA: The Flow of Eternal Power. Available from Ancient Healing Ways catalog:
www.a-healing.com ) May God bless you and Guru guide you to success in your life. SP
