vaheguruji ka khalsa

vaheguruji ki fateh.
I am a student of class 11.in recent months, I got enlightened about sikhism and God. I now have a desire to embrace sikkhism ,to become khalsa and to reach God by loving and following guruji. I want to become an amritdhari sikh, so that i can get more closer to guruji by following his order to every true sikh to have amrit, and also because,I know, many things which I am not able to follow now, I will be able to follow after having it as it will become obligatory for me to do so.
my question is regarding the relevance of kachiera against the normal underwear.at the time of guruji, men did not used to wear undergarment and so,wearing one was made compusary.but today is it necessary to wear an underwear of that make only?if yes, then please explain why.
another query regarding it is that it is too loose, and doctors advice men to wear undergarments which are tight enough to hold the testicles close to the body because due to the heating up of body by excercise they hang down and may twist causing serious problem.those who are in a habit of wearing loose undergarments may not have such problems, but those who have been wearing tight ones since childhood are susceptible!what is the remedy for this?Thankyou.

My dear, I hope that you will do a search for Katchera on the youth forum, because there is lots of information already posted.

We always wear underpants underneath our katcheras for the reason you indicated.
Bottom line, Guru Gobind Singh gave the rehit as it is. The Katcheras are definitely nothing like western cotton underwear and will do much more as you will see when you do the search, and when you start wearing them.
