Wahegure Ji Ke Fateh,

Hi im not very sure where u start but i would like to know if anything wrong to make love to the person that u r going to get married. As for me I hv make love to my gal friend many times n yes i m going to marry her. I do jaap na mool mantre very time before i sleep n i just want to have good life with her. I m know tat i hv done sin here of making love which i think falls in the adultery. Will i be forgiven for the doings that i hv done or i would be punish by the ALL MIGHTY.

(REPLY) Sat Nam. Adultery is having sex with someone who is married to someone else, or if you are married and having sex with someone who is not your spouse. But having sex before marriage -even though you plan to marry that person is contrary to the Sikh code of conduct. Your own conscience is "punishing" you, because you know it is wrong. Patience pays. Somewhere in Siri Guru Granth Sahib it talks about what is the use of bathing (in your case chanting, meditating) and then like the elephant, rolling in the dirt and dust again? There's nothing wrong with sex, and certainly as an act of love between husband and wife it's wonderful ! But if you really love this girl, then you should show some restraint and stop having sex with her until you are married. Show respect for her grace as a single woman. What has happened has happened, but you now have a choice. And obviously you wouldn't have asked the question if you didn't already know the answer! Blessings, SP
