Sat Sri Akal

I was just wondering what someone should do if they do something wrong. For example should i pray? If so what shall i say, i usualy just pray infront of a Picture of the Gurus? please tel me cuz i start feeling very guilty n i feel that i should do something. Thank you
(REPLY) There's an old saying, "An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure." So, it's best if we try not to do anything wrong in the first place! Of course you should pray -- whether you've done anything wrong or not, prayer is our way of keeping up our communication with God. If you feel guilty about something you have done, make sure you don't do it again! Make it a habit to read the daily prayers (Nitnem) to keep you connected with Guru's wisdom. You can do an Ardas, and ask forgiveness, but basically we need to forgive ourselves by determining to live and act righeously. If you can go to a Gurdwara and do some seva there, it will make you feel better -- and it's a wonderful thing to do anyway. Living in guilt and remorse is not productive. Getting up early in the morning, in the Amrit Vela and chanting God's Name is one way to clear out the past. And of course, one of the best ways to put behind all the mistakes of the past is by taking Amrit, it's like being reborn! Think about it. Blessings, SP
