i am really confused with this reht maryada stuff. is there a section in the shiri Guru Granth sahib that is called the reht Maryada or is it that a group of people got together and decided what the reht maryada should be. also what does the reht maryada translated into english mean?

i also have this really important question
Can you still meet God if you do not take Amrit but live your life as an amritdhaari?

Sat Siri Akaal. First question: Rehit Maryada translates as Code of Conduct. The Rehit was given to Sikhs by 10th Guru, Gobind Singh on the 1st Baisakhi in 1699. If you search this Forum or this entire Sikhnet site using keywords "Rehit" (also spelled sometimes Rehat, reht) you will learn more. There is no section in the Siri Guru Granth Sahib entitled Rehit Maryada, but the Rehit is still very much a part of Sikh teachings.

IN answer to your second question: Yes. Yes. Yes.
