Sat Sree Akal Jee,

I have this thought coming in my mind since 2-3 months only. I do my paths(Nitnam) regularly and trust in HIS existance. Two months ago my friend--like a brother who was 31 years age with young wife and 4 years old kid passed away with malignant cancer within 1 month. We prayed for him and also everyone who knew him. He was Gursikh and believed in Guru till his last concious breath he had faith in Guru. But he passed away leaving behind his old parents, family and friends who love them very much.
I have lots of other concerns about me...we are trying to have a baby since 4 years and I had best treatment since so far. According to Doctors there is nothing wrong in me and my husband. I do path everyday and also when I am driving or whenever I am free still....

So my question is if God has to do whatever HE wants and whenever HE wants then why we have to bother praying or asking him for something or somebody. As everyone says that everything happens at its own time Or in accordance with GOD's assigned time. Why we pray him to move things faster or soon if HE has to do his own wishes.
By sending this question it does not meant that I don't pray anymore. I do but still these questions haunt me even when I do Path.
Thank you in advance and I hope I will get some answer to give me some relif.
Rub Rakha.

(REPLY) Sat Nam. In life there are tragedies, illnesses, accidents, and disappointments. Whatever happens IS God's will, and what we need to remember is that we are ALL here temporarily to pay off our karma, and to make a conscious connection with Wahe Guru, so that when we finally leave the body, we shall unite easily and joyfully with Akal Purkh. Accepting the will of God is not easy when there are so many problems. Our responsibility is to maintain our faith, pray for guidance and understanding, and bring as much kindness and joy into the lives of OTHER people as possible. Remember, all things come from God, and all things shall return to God eventually. Meanwhile this life is a gift, an opportunity to learn patience, endurance, kindness, courage, and gratitude. It is understandable that you are sad that you have not conceived a child, but you do not know that it would be the best thing for you! Please try to be happy with what you have, and know that if it is God's will, it shall happen. Certainly you can chant to Guru Ram Das, the Lord of Miracles, and see what happens. But again, remember, be careful what youpray for, you are liable to get it -- and all the problems that might come along with it! Blessings, SP
