Summary of Question:Non-Alcoholic Party/Wedding

Hi,

I think the moderator's answer was perfect! But i couldn't help from sharing my own experience. Our family has had numerous parties, they all have been non-alcoholic. I think the FIRST party is the hardest, because people's expectations, especially punjabis, is party= drinking. But our parties are famous now because they are clean fun. Everyone dance, girls aren't afraid to get on the dance floor cuz some drunk guy will fall on her (when will that stop?). So put your foot down. I truly believe that if we pay for someone else's consumption of meat or alcohol. We share the bad karma. It may not entirely be in our name but some of it does go in our account. In the past, our parties have been in the cities, so there is always a bar or club close by and people will go drink from there or drink in their car (pathetic?) and then come to party hall. If thats how people want to be, let them. Atleast, you are happy that you didn't provide the booze. Many congrads on your marriage and best of luck.(both party and married life) geez its work!!
