Sat Nam. I was taught that after medtatively praying for guidance of the Guru,to open the volume, and in the morning, look on the left hand page, and read the first section thatI see that begins a Hukam. Such as a Slok. Then read the Slok and complete the hukam by reading it completely to the end of its Pauri. Other sections are obviously complete before the next "title." Most end with "Kaheh Nanak" but not always. It's helpful to know that near the middle section of the Bir, Hukams are usually more easily found, rather than very very long passages near the end.
