I HAVE BROWSED THROUGH THE NUMBER OF REPLIES GIVEN TO PEOPL ASKING ABOUT HAIR CUTTING AND THEY ARE ABOUT WHETHER IT IS RIGHT OR WRONG.

WELL MY QUESTION IS WHY DO SIKH YOUTHS, MALE AND FEMALE, CUT THERE HAIR? IS IT A TREND?

Sat Siri Akaal. Good question. Well the best way to find out is to ask Sikh youth why. Find Sikh Youth chat (Http://www.sikhnet.com/chat or http://www.sikhseek.com, click on link for Youth and Chat). Then you will know.

They could be cutting hair because of: peer pressure from non-Sikhs, pressure from parents (yes, it happens) or because they think it is more handsome/pretty to have styled hair and trimmed beards. They also might cut it because they have no understanding of the Sikh faith, discipline and path. Why? They weren't taught it in the first place or they never resonated with it. Not every one who is BORN in a Sikh family is MEANT to be Sikh. So many possible reasons, but I couldn't tell you exactly.
