RE: AMRIT SHAKNA

Q/ When should I take Amrit? How do I know I am ready?

A/
ARE YOU WILLING TO DIE FOR YOUR GURU?
ARE YOU WILLING TO LIVE FOR YOUR GURU?
ARE YOU WILL TO GIVE YOUR MIND, BODY AND SOUL TO THE GURU?

DO YOU WISH TO ACCEPT GURU GOBIND SINGH JI AS YOUR FATHER AND MATA SAHIB KAUR JI AS YOUR MOTHER?
DO YOU WISH TO ACCEPT THE KHALSA PANTH AS YOUR FAMILY?
DO YOU WISH TO ACCEPT THE GURU GRANTH SAHIB JI AS YOUR ONLY GUIDANCE IN LIFE AND THE SIKH REHAT MARYADA (DISCIPLE) YOUR WAY OF LIFE?

Know ask yourself.... what is answer to these things?

On Vaisakhi, 1699, Guru Gobind Singh Ji asked for a head.

Giving your head would mean accepting death.
Giving your head would mean given your mind, body and soul.
Giving your head would mean sacrificing everything around you.

Bhai Daya Ram did this!

Daya means "Compassion"

Guru Ji did not ask, "who can read the Panj Baanee-aa?"
Guru Ji did not ask, "who can wake up at Amrit-vela?"
Guru Ji did not ask, "who knows the Rehat?"

Guru Ji simply asked, for "a head!"

Sikhi is based on the foundations of DAYA (love)
