I wanted to just state something in response to the question or comment that was presented by a Sikh male and the response:

"I find it absolutely revolting that almost 3 out of 4 matrimonials found in punjabi publications have women seeking clean-cut sardars. First off, the term "clean-cut" is absolutely demeaning and demoralizing. Secondly, being 25, male I am set aback by the number of women who opt out of marrying a sardar with kesh. If these numbers speak for the general public then the verdict is that we are a dying breed not beacause we lack faith but because our surroundings hinder our path towards following closely to the sikh path. I want all of you with daughters and sisters and all the women who belong to this group consider what statement you are making when you decide to do this. Forget the french who are banning turbans in public, we are faced with a much stronger opponent - one who won't let us wear a pag in our own house!

I too find this revolting. I think it's funny when I hear the phrase "clean-shaven Sikh" - I actually have no idea what that means. *MOST* of the girls I've met in their early 20's are like this - they don't want to have anything to do with turbanned Sikhs. But I will tell you, there are a few girls here (in America) that want nothing but a turbanned Sikh - they are hard to find but it is a joy to meet these girls. They will be the future of Sikhi.

I challenge all young women out there to let go of their ego, embrace Sikhi and marry a turbanned Singh. Only that way will the true message of Guru Nanak Dev Ji flourish.

I just want to say that I am an 18 year old who goes to college in Boston where I have met so many Sikh guys my age (since there are so many colleges here.) I think I feel most attracted to those who are turbaned. I know many female Sikh college students who feel the same way as I do. As long as all Sikhs carry themselves in a respectable and admirable manner, from what I see, the guys will have no trouble getting the girls. I mean I know many girls (including non-Sikh) who have huge crushes on turbaned Sikh guys. It's because they are just awesome, fun people. And I think that guys shouldnt worry about the women who prefer clean-shaven men. It is their opinion. But do realize that there are just as many who feel differently. Just be who you are.
