waheguru ji ka khalsa

waheguru ji ki fateh

dear sister....

what the 'sant' told your brother is NOT "Sikh Philosophy"

What the person said comes from Hindu beliefs! Unfortunately though we call ourselves Sikhs, keep our hair, wear religious robes and look saintly... inside only GOd knows who is a saint or not... many of us have not abandoned our Hindu ancestors' beliefs which the Guru's preached against

Here are some of the Hindu beliefs:
1/ In Hinduism, a woman is not considered capable of reading the Vedas in a Mandir. This is not so in Sikhism. Guru Amar Das was brought to the fold of Sikhism after hearing Bibi Amro reciting the Gurbani.

2/Hinduism does state that women are under the control of men. The laws of Manu state, 'In childhood a female must be subject to her father, in youth to her husband, when her lord is dead to her sons; A woman must never be independent.' Law 148, Chapter V.

Islam:
SURA : Women : 004

4:34
Men are the protectors and maintainers of women, because Allah has given the one more (strength) than the other, and because they support them from their means. Therefore the righteous women are devoutly obedient, and guard in (the husband's) absence what Allah would have them guard. As to those women on whose part ye fear disloyalty and ill-conduct, admonish them (first), (Next), refuse to share their beds, (And last) beat them (lightly); but if they return to obedience, seek not against them Means (of annoyance): For Allah is Most High, great (above you all).

The Sikh religion is the only religion which openly opposes sexism and says sees women as not servants, slaves, made for men or weak
