i tried doing my nitnem aloud but have problems as when to inhale & exhale. i spend so much time concentrating on my breathing 'in' & 'out' it gets irritating and loose focus. some times i have to stop to exhale air out fully then breathe in and procees again, making me feel light headed.

what am i doing wrong, plz help, i don't want to stop doing my nitnem aloud.

(REPLY) Sat Nam. I don't know why you are focusing on your breathing while you are doing your nitnem? It's not like you're reciting a specific mantra that has a defined breathing pattern. Why don't you try simply focusing on listening to the sound as you read? Let the breath take care of itself. Inhale whenever you need to. Whenever we speak outloud, we automatically inhale whenever necessary. You don't have to force the breath. Recite for joy and with devotion, and I'm sure it will be much easier and smoother. I think you are trying too hard. Ordinarily, if a person is reading anything aloud, they automatically pause when/if necessary, but seldom have to take long deep breaths. I hope this helps. Blessings, SP
