Summary of Question:	Younger Man Older Woman Marriage

I hope you could answer this question for me. Is it against Sikh way of life for a younger man to marry an older woman? I love this woman; she is six years older than me. Our families don't agree with this. We are both single, educated, and independent Sikhs.

(REPLY) Sat Nam. As single, educated, and independent Sikhs, you are free to choose whom you want to marry, except that keep in mind you will not have the support of your families, and for most Sikhs that is an important part of your married life. It could be especially difficult when you have children. I don't know of any religious prohibition about age difference. SP
