Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa , Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh

I'm 12 years old, and I want to ask it is wrong to listen to shabads
without your head covered?
I, of course know that we should cover our head when we are listening to shabads as we need to pay a respect. But my problem is : When I'm going to school, like I'm on the bus and I like listening to shabads. But the problem is my head is not covered! Can you tell me will Waheguru get angry with me because I don't have my head covered while listening to shabads!

Your reply might help me ! Cause I beleive I am a child full of sins!

Sat Siri AKaal. First of all, since your heart is in the right place, you are not a 'child full of sins.' You have written in wondering if you are doing wrong. Not really, so don't pile up a lot of guilt in your mind on this!

Ideally, the head IS covered listening to shabds, but you believe this is not possible on the bus. Well, if you are not wearing a patka daily, perhaps when on the bus or listening to shabds on your portable listening device in public, you could wear a cap, such as a 'baseball' cap-- something that is not unusual for kids your age to wear. Think about your options this way. But really, I would rather you listen to shabds and be elevated by Guru's kirtan than listen to hard or acid rock and have your consciousness lowered. So if a head cover of some kind doesn't seem to work for you in public, just apologize to Waheguru in your heart and keep listening to shabds. Guru rakha,
