i was just wondering if sikhism is suppose to be an equal religion then why is that most people esspecially in the older generation have double standards among boys and girls. why is that so many parents let their sons do things they do not let their daughters do. they always say that it doesnt look right when a girl goes out even with girlfriends and guys do whatever they want to?

Yes, it does seem like a double standard. I guess parents are more worried about girls and wanting to protect them. Actually, parents need to protect their sons as well as their daughters. All I can say to you is be a good parent yourself, protecting, uplifting, training you children in the very best way you can. GTKK
