Wjkk Wjkf!!! I would juz like to know. Is it okay for a person to commit serious kuraihts and then go around doing parchaar of Sikhee???

Another thing...what's Sikhism's stand on retaking amrit?? Is it right for one to take amrit once then commit kuraihts indiscriminately within the same year and next year go back and retake amrit and let this cycle repeat itself continuously???

And thirdly...it's not right for Sikhs to believe in voodoo/black magic ??? Then why do I see Sikhs(not the normal sikh on the street kind but those really pious type) engaging in such voodoo cult-like events???

(REPLY) Sat Nam. I have no idea what sort of voo-doo you are referring to. So I won't comment on that. As for retaking Amrit, it is totally between you and the Guru. But just keep in mind, Amrit is not something to take lightly. It's not like going to "Confession" as the Catholics do, and then think that you can go out and commit the same things again and be all right! It is my understanding that before retaking Amrit, a person is interviewed by the Panj, at at that time, I would imagine they would be reviewing your past actions and questioning you quite seriously about your intentions! Repeating the cycle continuously as you suggest is definitely not recommended! Unless your best intentions are to live up to the code and conduct of Amrit Dhari, for the rest of your life, you should not take Amrit in the first place. Blessings, SP
