Summary of Question:Why Have The Sikhs Not Got Their Own Country/Land
Category:Other

All over the history we have seen persecution and fighting between Mughals and tyrants amoung Sikhs.

WHat is the reason why inspite of having so many enlightened saints and gurus we are still not prospering or be able to live in a state wherein we can have freedom and propogate freely. Why do we not have independence?

Other countries like Britain, America, Israel are the leaders have power and dominion over all other countries. It is synomnyumous that the world sees that Christianity and the land of Christ is prospering and having power to rule over other countries and religions.
What a shame or loss for Sikhs. Why could our Guru not ensure that his Sikhs keep a structure where in the bad deeds of a few corrupt individuals does not make the whole Sikh religion into servants and result in their loss of power.
This is one important thing that we turn a blind eye to.

(REPLY)

Sat Nam. You have your facts a little off. The United States has to keep religion and politics separate. Though it may have a predominantly Christian population, its laws are made by people of many different religions. Israel does not rule over other countries. They are fighting constantly to defend their borders. I believe our Gurus wanted us to be universal in out thinking and to spread the message of Sikhi all over the world, and not be confined by geographical borders. Putting up walls to separate ourselves from other countries is only an invitation to outside agressiong. The first step is for the Sikhs themselves to unite in spiritual unity and commitment. Sevice to all mankind is the ideal of a true Sikh, but that doesn't make us "servants." I don't know whereof you speak, and what bad experiences you have had to create such an attitude, but I hope you will reconsider and learn more about how Sikh Dharma is actually spreading and growing in the West.

Blessings, SP
