This is to help the 27 yr. old doctor who wants to marry this girl who is not approved of by his parents.

I can relate with what the reply was by the moderator and it is true too. But now-a-days looks mean so much and status means so much to some people that they do not care what true love is and what their own child want. I think it could also be that by "nice" girls they mean thinner, healthier, prettier. That is sad, what if one of the nice girls (who could look or act nice) not turn out nice or get large after marriage or have health problems or is not able to have kids - then what?!! Will your family ask you to get another one. I think you need to tell them these things. Miracles happen and love and peace in life is more important than looks (which are temporary). What if you or someone else have some accident and are deformed or so, would you not want your love be by your side (what better way and what better person to have to care for. They will care without any expectation). Tell your parents all this, what if one of them got deformed or so would the other one look for another man or woman - that is sick. Then what does marriage really mean to them - a social status :-( Good luck. I think if you stay firm with your decision and keep convincing them, they will change else do what is right for you and later on they will except you & her (they are your parents). I really feel sorry for kids like you who are raised with so much guilt etc. shame on those parents (since they were controlled they do not knoe any better,someone has to break the mould).Moderator, I would like this kid to email me. Could you please give him my email address.I have a name of someone in India who even has cured cancer of my aunt (maybe he can help him by his medication).
Take care and listen to your inside and setup an example of what true love is.Rest whatever is HIS hukum will eventually happen but you should atleast try.
