Guru Fateh!

firstly i would like to thank the great team of sikhnet, who r really & truly giving their services to delvop Sikhism on international level.I 've asked a lot Questions & always got the quick'n satisfied answers.

But now i m in big trouble i m Amritdhari & truly follow most of the rules of sikhism.I like a guy very much v know each other from nearly 10 years, now it's time to get marry but he is Non-Amritdhari but still he goes gurudwara everyday,he do paath everyday ,he never even think to disrespect his hairs ,he don't have any bad habits of drink & all , he respects me being an Amritdhari i mean overall heis a decent guy .He tried a lot but now he says , he will be an Amridhari but now he don't fel capable to follow all rules like he say that sometimes in his circle he abuses he speaks lie sometimes so he will some time but how much he unable to tell me.

But i don't 've much time to give him as my parents r ready to do my marriage but i think it 's against the rules of sikhism to marry a non Amritdhari guy coz if v can't even share our food so how can v get married?
i don't 've any sufficient person to answer this .I like him from the deepest layers of my heart but i don't want to break any rule of my Amrit.

Please answer me as u always did.

Thank u!

This question you can only answer because this is the person you are going to spend the rest of your life with. It is important to ask yourself some basic questions though. Does this person live as a GurSikh? There are many amardari Sikhs, who are unrighteous people. Do you trust this person? He some times lies? What is that all about? If he lies to some one else, will he lie to you? What would keep him from that? Ask yourself, is this the person you want to have your children with? Will he be a good father and example to them? Will he be consistant, stable, loving and fair with me and the children? Do you see what I mean here? Really look at him realistically. Not because you
have cared for him for so long, but because you can really look him in the eye and say, "Yes, this person is going to be true to me and our children, through the thick and thin of life." Good luck in your decision. GTKK
