Summary of Question:	How Will I Wear A Helmet With A Patka?

Well last year i was about to play football and even got on the team but i had to quit because the helmet wouldnt fit. I could get a bigger helmet but i wouldnt be allowed to play because the helmet doesnt wrap around my head. How should i go about this?

Well this is a real problem. Too bad we don't have helmets like this one that the Khalsa army used in the 18th century:



You may have to put a polyurethane "donut" around your joora and then use a larger helmet, or fight for "special dispensation" for religious reasons in order to play with your patka. Many have been successful in getting waivers for motorcycle helmets by having their local minister or gyani ji write a letter on their behalf.
