Wahe GuruJi Ka Khalsa; Wahe Guruji Ki Fathae,

Hi, there is something that has been going on in my mind for quite some time, it is just that an Amritdhari friend of mine told me, that it is predicted in the Guru Granth Sahibji that there will be some sort of a jihad involving the Muslims, that they will be made to suffer and the world will turn against them... Is it true??? Cos I find it hard to believe...It then goes onto say that all the nations will fall, and the only nation that will be left to rule is the one, in which persons do not cut their hair??? Please let me know.

This is absolutely false. Ask your Amritdhari friend what page number this is written. If he does have a page number, read the passage for yourself and decide for yourself what the Guru is talking about. Remember - the Siri Guru Granth Sahib is our Spiritual Guide and Teacher. This is not the Sikh version of the "Bible." It is not a prophetic work. Prophecy is not part of the Sikh tradition because the Guru teaches us that only God knows the future - no human can know it - it's all His play. We go to the Guru to meditate on the Divine Wisdom that can guide us through the trials of life and bring us to our own Spiritual Awakening. The Guru takes us to an understanding of the Ultimate Reality that we can experience within ourselves, in our own lifetime. The Siri Guru Granth Sahib is a very beautiful guide for our own consciousness and can help us through every difficulty in life. So - read the Guru for yourself, get the experience, and whenever anyone tells you something like your friend told you - find out what shabad he is talking about and decide for yourself if that is what the Guru is saying.
