Hi, I have a book that has certain shabads with their effects. It is said that if the shabad is practiced 108 times every morning in amrit wela the result is achieved. I want to know how true is this ??? Did our guru's say that certain shabads can be performed at certain times for certain period to achieve the desired result ???

Also, is it true that doing 40 or 45 sukhmani sahib ji full fills your desire or gets the desired result. Will you pls guide me on this.

Oh ye of little faith. When you set your intent and add to it a vibration of gurbani, anything is possible. The number 108 is common in spiritual practices because something practiced that many times can set the vibration for your intent and prayer. It might be a mantra, a shabd, a yoga set (done for 108 days), etc. 40 is the minimum number for setting a practice and its effects in to YOUR being. Sukhmani is very healing and stabilizing for the mind. It is said by many Sikhs that Sukhmani is a 'condensed' version of the (teachings of) the entire Siri Guru Granth Sahib.
Be careful what you wish for! You just may get it and be surprised that it isn't exactly what you expected. Best to ask Guru to ensure you (or whoever) is always guided to live the highest truth and to follow Guru's will.
Guru ang sang,
