while talking to her she just picked the sissor and cut my braid from bottom
as i am not aware of it sikh never cut .
when parents come back the scholld me it . they me i sholud have told aunt not
to do it
please tell me know what can i do although i like short hair.
thanks please reply fast
(REPLY) Hair is God's gift to you. Your Aunt had no right to cut your hair. if you want to respect the gift that God gave you, which is one of the recognizable signs of Sikh identity, let your hair grow long. Keep scissors away from your aunt in future! You may "like" short hair, but that's a fashion to please the ego, rather than pleasing the Guru. there are many long discussions on this Youth Forum about hair, you might want to do a search to lean more about why Sikhs keep "kesh" -- uncut hair. blessings, SP
