i have a strange problem with my sister in law,she is very abusive to me in spite of what i do and i am from well mannered family.Actually me and my husband are dependent on her financially and struggling to be self dependent.our daughter is with my mom in law in india as i am in usa studying.my inlaws also believe wat she says and with so much tension i cannot even study which makes me more depressed as i have also left my daughter for that purpose.i get so upset with her stories which she cooks out of nowhere,i try not to tell my husband most of times as he also gets upset,we already have so many problems so i cannot add to it,please help

Dear sweet daugther,
Diffuse her and do not abuse her as the bomb will always blow up in your face until you gently and carefully attend to it. When you feel cool inside, you can diffuse any onslaught with a genuine smile of agreement. Harsh words and strong language cannot hurt you...especially when you feel good inside.

I have a very special meditation for you. It is the one minute breath. Guru Gobind Singh used to breathe one breath per minute. He was very calm and clear and could handle a great deal of opposition with a genuine grace.

Take some time to do your own sweet meditation. Go to that place where you can connect with your inner peace and connect with your connection to your daughter. Here is the meditation:

Breathe long and deep and deep and long through your nose. Relax your belly, relax your mind.

1.make yourself a quiet place to sit or lie down. Breath in the nose very slowly to the count of : wha-he-gu- ru, wa-he-gu-ru(8 counts). Next, hold your breath in for the same count of (8) wa-he-gu-ru-wa-he-gu-ru. Then exhale through the nose for the same count of (8) wa-he-gu-ru-wa-he-gu-ru. Continue this breath for a while.....until you feel comfortable increasing the length of the breaths.... doing the wa-he-gu-ru 3 times for each part of the breath. Your goal is to increase each breath segment(inhale-hold-exhale) to 20 seconds inhale, 20 seconds hold the breath and 20 second exhale. Then relax on your back or in sitting posture for 5-11 minutes. Enjoy the effect of this and feel the changes inside of you.

This practice will give you great clarity and balance. You will find that you will not react to harsh words or criticism or whatever bothers you. And, you will find great wisdom and ways through your problems. Start this meditation daily: 11 minutes daily, next week 31 minutes daily.
Do for the next 40 days and see how much more peace you find in your life.
