Summary of Question:Why Refer To Our Lord As Our Husband Lord?

Sat Sri Akal ji,

Can you please explain why in our holy scriptures it gives reference to god as our Husband Lord? Am I misunderstanding something? I look to god as my Master and Father and our Guruji's as my teachers/guides. Can you please expalin this?

Also, I am getting really curious about meditation, but I keep putting it off becuase I don't know how/where to start. I looked through some of the Q&A's and they are helpful, but how do you know when you are truly in a meditative state? I can sit and praise the lord's name numerous times but not feel any different....
Thanks and god bless.

Husband/Lord is just a metaphore to describe the love of a beloved. The Guru is also described as a Father, Mother, Sibling, etc. Including Husband is making the experience complete somehow. It gives it a passion and real heart connection, which might not be as experienced with the other relationships.

As far as meditation, do you live near a 3HO yoga center? Go take a class in meditation. It is very helpful to have a teacher to guide you through the experience. Good Luck. GTKK
