Hi,

I really like your website, I think you guys do a really good job of helping out struggling youth like myself. I just have one problem, like my whole attitude in life has changed.

When I was in High School, around Grade 10. Me and a couple of guys did something pretty bad, nothing illegal, but still pretty bad and I started reading bani a lot more. Because I was scared, like everyday I would get caught. Somehow my marks improved, becuase I think God took me under his wing. After I graduated, the incident went a way and I got into College. Now I am in College, and I just can't focus anymore. I started getting more involved with girls and stuff, even though I never did in High School.

Can you suggest something that may help me become a better Sikh?

Sat Nam. What's your definition of "a better Sikh"? Figure out what you really honestly want to be and what attitudes and actions go along with that profile. make a list, yes, write down what you would tell someone else, if they asked you how to be a "better Sikh" and then live it. Reading the banis every day is not a ritual. There is special power and consciousness in each bani; they are tools to help a Sikh excel in life. Getting involved with girls and stuff is taking a dangerous detour off the highway that leads to your goals in life. Figure out where you want to end up, and figure out the most efficient way to get there! If you stop to play games along the way, you'll waste a lot of valuable time, and may never reach your intended destination. I'm not saying you shouldn't have fun and have some recreation, but whatever you do, think ahead and don't cause any cause which you don't want to experience the effect! And every action does have a reaction. I wish you well. SP
